Quietly
situated in Superior, Wisconsin's north end is a small
business, not readily known by many in the area. Few
know that this glass carving business has attracted
clients on an international level from New York, New
Jersey, California, to Germany and South America. Yes,
Graphmark's specially etched crystal awards have traveled
around the world.

In
1985, Rod Neff, President of Graphmark, began experimenting
with a special "resist film" used in transferring images
onto crystal and mirrored glass, through a special sand-blasting
technique. His first attempts were so successful that
he entered them in the Society Glass Decorators International
Show in Washington D.C. and won first place. |

Graphmark's unique etching technique is not limited to
just glass. The process can be applied to other hard surfaces
such as marble, quartz, granite, wood and metals. Images
are photographed on Graphmark's specially developed "resist
film" and then applied to any one of these hard materials.
After being "sand-blasted" with fine grains of aluminum
oxide, the "resist film" is removed and the resulting
image is amazingly replicated. These images are transferred
in detailed sharpness and in picture perfect fashion.
